Rep. Stinziano Named to ‘Forty Under 40’ by Business First

State Representative Michael Stinziano has been named to Business First’s “Forty Under 40” for 2012.

Rep. Stinziano represents the residents and businesses of Franklinton, German Village, The Hilltop, Lockbourne, Merion Village, Obetz, The University District, Victorian Village, Westgate, The South Side, and Far-South Franklin County.

“It is fitting that Michael Stinziano is being honored with this recognition and we salute his achievement,” said Don McTigue, Managing Partner of McTigue & McGinnis LLC.  Rep. Stinziano is an attorney practicing election and campaign finance law.

Before coming to McTigue & McGinnis, Stinziano served as director of the Franklin County Board of Elections and on the staff of former Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.

In January, the Ohio Association of Election Officials (OAEO) recognized Stinziano as its Outstanding Legislator of the Year for his work in elections and his ability to work across party lines.

During his time in the Ohio House of Representatives, Rep. Stinziano has introduced several pieces of legislation ranging from protecting young athletes from concussions to the creation of a new economic development program in the state. In July last year, after unanimous passage in both chambers, the Governor signed legislation sponsored by Reps. Stinziano which would expand voting access to military and overseas voters.

Stinziano, who lives with his wife Caroline McNamee Stinziano in Victorian Village, serves on the boards of Gladden Community House, the Boys and Girls Club, the International Visitors Council, and Friends of the Hilltop.

The winners of Business First’s annual ‘Forty Under 40” awards, announced Friday, will be honored at a dinner and awards ceremony on May 23 at The Columbus Athenaeum. A special supplement tied to the awards will appear in Business First’s May 25 edition. Since its inception in 1993, Columbus Business First has recognized forty individuals under 40 nominated by their peers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in community involvement and professional achievement.
